He was previously Director, Investment Funds, at Hill Samuel Asset Management and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership Limited. He was a partner of stockbrokers Kitcat and Aitken for many years and subsequently managing director of Carr Kitcat and Aitken between 1990 and 1993
Chief Executive, Nico van der Hoven, aged 52, has over fifteen years experience in the mining exploration sector. He has co-founded a number of mining exploration companies in South Africa and currently is a director of Xanadu Mining (Pty) Limited, Grindstone Mining Limited and GeoQuest. He has degrees in commerce and law from the University of Stellenbosch
Geological Director, Dr Lawrie Minter, aged 71, gained extensive experience working as a geologist from 1959 to 1983 for Rhodesian Selection Trust Exploration Limited, General Mining Corporation Limited and Anglo American Corporation Limited. He is credited with having developed the first exploration and mining models for the gold-bearing palaeoplacers in the Witwatersrand. He is an internationally recognised expert on Witwatersrand-type palaeoplacers and from 1983 to 2000 he held the chair of Economic Geology at the University of Cape Town
Finance Director and Company Secretary, Jurie Wessels, aged 41, Finance Director and Company Secretary, is a minerals lawyer and has significant experience in the management of mineral rights and properties. He currently is a director of Xanadu Mining, GrindStone Mining and GeoQuest. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a post-graduate degree in law from the University of Stellenbosch
Exploration and New Business Development Director, Dr Hendrik Schloemann, aged 45, is a qualified geologist and has thirteen years of exploration experience in Africa and South America. During 2006 and 2007 Dr. Schloemann held the position of Exploration Manager for Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited and was responsible for Harmony's exploration activities in Africa. Prior to this Dr. Schloemann worked for Aurelian Resources Inc. where he contributed significantly to the discovery of the 14M oz Fruta del Norte gold deposit in Ecuador in 2006
